Walker's clues
Throughout this journey Walker goes on, she travels to Zora's home of Goldsboro, Florida even though she had thought it was Eatonville like Zora had said in Their eyes were watching god. Walker talks to locals, and people she has never met in her life, and Zora's niece I believe. They talk about her life, and what troubles she had gone through as she was growing up. Walker found out a bunch of facts like the fact she didn't know Zora was actually a big person in her fifties. She also did not know that Zora was not buried in a grave, and just thrown under a field of weeds. So Walker entombed a grave for her respects to Zora and now she is trying to get Zora's name out to others so she can be noticed more. As she was finding more clues that she didnt know about, Walker was beginning to appreciate herself and her heritage because Zora was a big writer that had inspired her to write novels, and his it a little bit better than Zora did.

The blues!
Janie is feeling "blue" because her life isnt figured out yet! She does not got all the answers to her questions yet. What I mean by that is she does not have all the answers to her marriage yet. Janie does not know how to love and give love back. The marriages not lasting a long time was because her dad was a rapist, she did not know her momma and her grandmomma died, and her momma did not find true love as well. For those certain reasons, Janie has been through two marriages and has not settled down with the right guy yet. She is still on the mission to look for her one true love...

Journey to self discovery.
There are years that ask questions and years that answer questions. This upcoming year Janie will still be asking questions because she still will not have the answers to all of them yet. Also she will ask new questions as the years go by and still wont answer all of them. Everyday people discover new answers, and ask new questions about the answers or something different. Shes only a teenager, but not an adult yet. She will not know everything when she turns 18 or so. She still has her life to live. Plus marriage is a big thing for her to handle at her age. So in all reality she will still be trying to find the answers to her own questions by asking.

Two faced people!
I disagree about when people watch you and talk about you behind your back have your best interest at heart! Why I disagree is because when they talk bad about you, they probably either have a love hate relationship with you, make fun of you to feel better about themselves, envy you, heard something bad about you, or try to make your life a living hell. None of those things are your best interest. Whether it's good or bad, don't say anything at all because if you have something to say, say it to my face. It's not right to talk about others behind their back because I'm pretty sure you would not like it either. You then get this paranoid feeling when your around all of your friends and family, and that freaks me out so much! Some people take it to the extreme when people say that other people talk behind their backs.

Daisy's ways (;
The other girl, Daisy, made an attempt to rise
she leaned slightly forward with a conscientious expression,
then she laughed, an absurd, charming little laugh,
and I laughed too and came forward into the room.
“I’m p-paralyzed with happiness.” She laughed again,
as if she said something very witty, and held my hand for a moment,
looking up into my face, promising that there was no one in the world she so much wanted to see.
That was a way she had. ( Fitgerald Page 13)

Would you marry for money?
DO NOT become a gold digger and marry somebody just for the money! It's wrong and your relationship with that person won't be healthy! Personally I would not marry for money. I would not marry for money because money does not make me happy all the time. I mean yeah when you have money it's a great feeling but if you have all the money in the world and not know what to do with it, then it can lead to depression, or other problems. Your supposed to marry someone for who they are in the inside, not for the looks or the money. You need someone who will be by your side no matter what the situation is. You also need someone to like/love you for who you are, not because of the money you have. You wouldn't like it if somebody married you for your money, but thought you were ugly, or the most annoying person on this planet or vice versa. Now if you go for the persons looks instead of going, then that's all you.

Outward appearances!
I believe outward appearances are deceptive. Why I believe they are deceptive is because they don't tell everything about a person all of the time. For example, I know one of my friends who wears all of these private school uniforms and listens to rock music and he's black. (not to be racist) I also know my cousin who dresses indie most of the time, and yet listens to country music and plays sports. I've also witnessed a buff man with all these workout shirts who has a hobby for singing than working out, or playing a sport. It doesn't necessarily have to do with music or clothes, it could also do with hairstyle, personality, etc. We are too concerened with our outer appearance because we do not want people judging us by our looks and what we wear, so sometimes we try to please them by wearing what they like. I also believe what we have in America is substantial because we know how to appreciate things we have, well some of us. Honestly, I'm not one to judge others money, or looks because I don't want to make them wear something they don't want to wear. If they like Abercrombie, let them wear Abercrombie. If they like Wal-mart clothes, let them wear Wal-mart clothes. If they do not have as much money as another person, then i won't make fun of them or anything like that, I will just let them go on with their lives!

Assimilation!
To assimilate means that to adapt, or absorb your surroundings. Assimilation can do with culture, personality, the way you dress, language, etc. Assimilation is shown early in the play by Ruth because whatever another person does, she agress with them. She does what others do instead of herself because she was taught to react by reacting to other peoples decisions instead of hers to satisfy them. Ruth without a doubt has assimilation as a weakness because she looks like she doesn't have any pride when she reacts to others decisions but her own. It makes other women look weak when it comes to their rights. I'm not going to lie, I have seen people assimilate at school like for example,(not to be racist) I've seen mexicans or white people try to act and talk like black people just to try and satisfy and fit in with the black people. I have also seen nerds talk to jocks about sports, games, stats about games and players just to try and fit in with the jocks even though the nerds do not know squat about sports because they don't tune into the sports channels. Last, but not least I have witnessed an old friends of mine do insane dares in front of his other friends and teachers just so he could claim he was apart of the "cool clique." I do not assimilate one bit because I don't want to satisfy others because i must dress a certain way, or change my personality, or accomplish requirements to join a certain group. In Eric Liu's situation of assimilation, he was a Chinese-American and he saw things he had never witnessed before in China, like different ways to eat, different ways of dressing, the language of America, and many other things. He had to assimilate to be successful because he had to learn many different customs to learn about the white people's way of life! He was feeling bad while he was on his journey of assimilation because he had neglected his roots of China, but in reality he didn't because he was not losing anything, he was just gaining more knowledge of a different country.

Me or my family?
In my opinion, my family comes first before me. I believe so because my family has done alot for me like buy me clothes, bought me shoes, given me money, basically little things to benifit me. The point I'm trying to make is that since they can do alot for me, why can't I put my priorities aside for them like how they have always done for me. I also put my family ahead of myself because they have always been there for me, taught me my wrongs from rights, and last but not least I cherish moments with them like nobody else.

My American dream! (:
What my American dream is in the future is to do whatever you want to do without anybody telling you what to do, basically having your own freeedom. My American dream is to be one of the richest people in the world. Being in the NFL is another thing on my American dream list. Also to have the best looking wife in this world as well. Last but not least on my American dream list is to be living in a peaceful society. (:
American dream
What I think an American dream is the way how you want to live your life without anyone telling you how to live it. Having your own freeedom. Like you can be a hard worker and live rich, or not a hard worker and live how you want to. It's up to you! Live your life how you want to! If somebody tells you how to live your life, dont listen to them!
